Engine block is main body of excavator engine, which connects each cylinder and crankcase as a whole, supporting framework for installing pistons, crankshafts and other parts and accessories. The cylinder body material should have sufficient strength, good castability and machinability. The commonly used cylinder body materials are cast iron and alloy cast iron. However, the use of aluminum alloy cylinder blocks is becoming more and more common, because aluminum alloy cylinder blocks are light in weight, have good thermal conductivity, and the capacity of coolant can be reduced.
The method of repairing the cracked engine block
1. First of all, using coarse sandpaper to sand out the rust in the cylinder block. When polished to a certain extent, you can find broken terminal;
2. Then, it is enough to directly carry out welding patching machine. The warping of the welding part should be paid attention. If there is, be sure to tap the welding place while it is hot to avoid leaving some welding slag on it;
3. After patching, a layer of asbestos pad should be placed on the patch plate and the cylinder block (cylinder head), and then a layer of lubricating oil should be applied on both sides.
